Are you a second Master's student and do you want to apply for the one-year Master of Theology & Religious Studies (60 EC) or the three-year Master of Theology & Religious Studies (180 ECTS) at the Faculty of Theology, then you have to pay the institution tuition fee of € 13.500,-. The Faculty of Theology gave this second Master students the opportunity to qualify for a ‘scholarship second Master students’. Students who have been awarded the Second Master scholarship pay at registration on September 1 the entire institution tuition fee of € 13.500,- but on 1 October they receive a grant of
€ 11.000,- from the Faculty of Theology.

One-Year Master Theology & Religious Studies
Students who apply for a grant for this one-year Master, as they have been awarded the scholarship entitled to a scholarship for one year.

Three-year Master of Theology & Religious Studies
Students who apply for a scholarship for this three-year Master and awarded this scholarship, they have been awarded to a grant for three years. An important condition is that you have at least 42 of the 60 credits earned in each successive year.

Registration for the 'Second Master scholarship students
How do you qualify for a scholarship or the Ted Neeley Scholarship?
1. You send a resume and cover letter to prof. Dr. Joke van Saane (j.w.van.saane@vu.nl) before May 15, 2017.
    A. The resume should contain the following information:
        i. Name; date of birth; address; email address; VU student number; Earlier diplomas; transcript of the first Master's program in which the average figure indicated; training where the students are enrolled; Status / phase of enrollment at the university.
    b. In the cover letter you should explain why you think you qualify for a scholarship. You need to provide the cover letter dated and signed in PDF.
2. An evaluation committee early June evaluates all entries according to the following criteria:
    A. Average rating of 7.5 or higher for the first Master (all courses, including electives count);
    b. CV;
    c. Motivation letter;
    d. Social relevance: the grant awarded will make a significant contribution to the training and development of professionals within religious communities;
3. From all the entries makes a pre-selection committee. Are you at the pre-selection, the committee will invite you for an individual interview to discuss your ambitions and motivation to follow the one-year or three-year Master of Theology & Religious Studies. Are you not in the pre-selection, then you will be notified.
4. Based on the evaluation of the Committee and the individual interview will be chosen which students are eligible for a second scholarship for Master students. The chosen and rejected students received notice of the committee.
5. Will you be granted a scholarship? Congratulations! Then you hand over a receipt for the institution tuition fees to the commission. From the proof of payment must clearly indicate that you have paid the institutional rate at VU University in Amsterdam. Proof of payment can be a print screen and / or PDF from a bank statement showing your personal details and IBAN number listed.
6. You also hands over a certificate of registration to the commission, which clearly shows that you are registered at the VU University in Amsterdam.
7. After the receipt and registration are presented by you to the committee, the Faculty of Theology will be up to you to make the exchange. This will take place around October 1st.

The Faculty of Theology gave this second Master students the opportunity to qualify for a ‘scholarship second Master students’. Students who have been awarded the Second Master scholarship pay at registration on September 1 the entire institution tuition fee of €10.500 but on 1 October they receive a grant of € 8000 from the Faculty of Theology.
