The Faculty of Theology, together with the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Azusa Theological College, participates in the Hollenweger Centre for Interdisciplinary Study or Pentecostalism and Charismatic Movements.
The Centre offers the opportunity for coaching PhD students from The Netherlands as well as from abroad, who want to dedicate their thesis to the Pentecostalism in all its diversity. The Hollenweger Centre manages a website where, among others, the discussion forum “PentecoForum” (http://www.hollenwegercenter.net) can be found. The book- and magazine collection of prof. dr. W.J. Hollenweger, who gave his name to the Centre, is housed in the library of the VU University Amsterdam. The archive material is housed in the Historical Documentation Centre.
On behalf of the Faculty of Theology, prof. dr. C. van der Kooi, prof. dr. C. van der Laan and dr. M. van der Meulen are holding seats in the Steering Group Hollenweger Centre.
Together with universities in Heidelberg and Birmingham, the Hollenweger Centre participates in the European Research Network on Global Pentecostalism (Glopent). Glopent organizes annual conferences and publishes the online magazine PentecoStudies (www.glopent.net).
