Prof. Werline Researcher in Residence

During March and April, Prof. Rodney A. Werline (PhD, 1995, The University of Iowa) is visiting with the Faculty of Theology, Department Biblical Studies, as a Researcher in Residence.

While at VU, Prof. Werline will continue his research on ritual and experience in 1 Enoch, an early Jewish text. He is Professor and the Marie and Leman Barnhill Endowed Chair of Religious Studies and the Director of the Center for Religious Studies at Barton College, Wilson, North Carolina (USA). Currently he serves as series editor for Early Judaism and Its Literature (Society of Biblical Literature), and he has written two books and co-edited six volumes. His most recent co-edited volume, on which he worked with Dr. Colleen Shantz, is entitled Experientia, Vol. 2: Linking Text and Experience (SBL, 2012).
