We invite you warmly on behalf of the boards of our institutions for the joint opening of the Academic Year 2017/2018 on Monday, September 4th, 2017 at 9:30 AM in the auditorium.

Staff and students can participate in an interesting and challenging program with the theme: Fertile Chaos

Fragmentation of society seems to be on the increase. Previous classifications along ethnic, cultural or religious lines seem to lose their self-evident character. Occasionally, this leads to moral panic. How can we put up with one another in a public space where differences are being enlarged and new bulwarks of orthodoxy (religious or societal)
compete with postmodern ways of life? On the other hand, this ostensible chaos can lead to unexpected coalitions and creative initiatives. Both Theologians and religious scholars know that in ancient myths of creation the powers of chaos are being turned into fertile life-worlds. The opening gives us an opportunity to reflect on the question where to find starting points for such creative potential.
